Solar-powered festival in Boyle Heights; ‘live animated comedy’ near Silver Lake; soapbox race in Elysian Park

A 100% solar-powered art and music festival comes together at Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights. The “Live Animated Comedy Show” is back at The Virgil in East Hollywood on the border of Silver Lake. In Elysian Park, a soapbox race features 70 competitors, all riding cars with nothing but steering, brakes, and the power of downhill gravity.
