A barbecue competition takes the stage in Eagle Rock – with ribs, chicken, pork and brisket – all benefiting the African American Firefighter Museum and the Fire Family Foundation. If you happen to be fasting that day, Highland Park has Family High Holy Days Services at Temple Beth Israel on Monte Vista Street. Or just watch a free screening of The Lego Batman Movie at Sycamore Grove Park in Arroyo Seco.
