Missing Lincoln Heights teen found; those annoying political texts; palm tree die-off; deadly motorcycle crash

  • A 17-year-old woman from Lincoln Heights who went missing last Thursday has been found. Dexian Chen has been reunited with her family after being found in good health in Gardena, according to police. No further information was provided. LAPD
  • Many of the city’s iconic palm trees are dying from a variety of diseases and pests. But the city has pledged to replace or has replaced some landmark stands and groups of palms at Echo Park Lake, Elysian Park and Lincoln Park. L.A. Times
