One dead, one injured in Glassell Park shooting [updated]

GLASSELL PARK — One man is dead and another is in critical condition this morning after they were shot in the 3300 block of Drew Street, police said.

The suspect or suspects, who fired multiple rounds at the victims just after midnight, remain at large as of this morning.

Update: ABC7 reports the shooting may have been the result of a family dispute.

The victims, two male Latinos in their 30s, were transported to a hospital, where one was pronounced dead and the other is in critical condition, said LAPD spokeswoman Norma Eisenman.

The shooting is not believed to be gang related, based on preliminary information.  No further details were immediately available about the victims or suspects.

  2. UPDATED STORY: Records show the offender had previous altercations with the victim. He had been shot at by victim and “jumped” previously for disturbing the peace. This was just a matter of time before the offender retaliated. Sad to see it was between family but sadly in these gangs boundaries don’t exist.
