Thunderstorms that swept across the Antelope Valley early this evening generated quite a light show for L.A. residents who lived miles away and never saw a drop fall from the sky. In Silver Lake, for example,  Colleen Paeff shot a video of the lightning from a Silver Lake restaurant.

“I was at Hyperion Public with my husband this evening and there was an amazing lightning storm inside the clouds,” she said in an email.  “It just kept going and going. Pretty spectacular!”

Many other L.A. residents thought the same and posted photos on social media of the storm.
