ECHO PARK — Firefighters responded to a blaze that broke out this morning in a single-family home in the 1600 block of Fargo Street in the Elysian Heights section of Echo Park.
The fire, which was initially reported at about 5:30 am, was in the basement and first floor of the home, the L.A. Fire Department said on Twitter. No further information was available at this time.
Update @ 6:18 am: The fire was extinguished in 46 minutes without injuries, says the LAFD. The basement fire had spread to the attic of the home but was prevented from reaching nearby structures.
