True tales in East L.A.; Latin American film screening; Holiday Blues workshop

East L.A. library hosts “Tell Your True Tale, Vol. 8,” in which ten writers, guided by former L.A. Times reporter Sam Quinones, present the workshop’s latest volume of true stories. In Griffith Park, the Autry Museum hosts a screening of “Orinoko, Nuevo Mundo,” the second chapter of Venezuelan artist and filmmaker Diego Rísquez’s movie trilogy on Latin America. In Mount Washington, experts hold a “Holiday Blues Workshop,” discussing strategies to help those who are suffering from a loss during the holidays.
