LAPD investigates Rampart captain over pot warehouse; 110 Freeway closed after man threatens to jump

Pot Grow:  A captain at LAPD Division’s Rampart Division is being investigated over his possible connection to a Sun Valley warehouse where the report of a burglary revealed the discovery of a marijuana grow. Capt. Phillip A Smith told ABC7 he was not connected to the marijuana grow but did report the burglary while off duty. It’s not clear, however, how he became aware of the burglary or what he was doing in the area, said the L.A. Times. The Rampart Division covers Angeleno Heights and portions of Echo Park and Silver Lake south of Sunset Boulevard.

Freeway Closure: The Arroyo Seco Parkway (110 Freeway) was closed in both directions Thursday night after a man threatened to jump from an overpass near Avenue 43 in Montecito Heights. The man was eventually taken into custody for evaluation. My News LA

Another Freeway Closure: The northbound 710 Freeway was shut down near the 60 Freeway in East Los Angeles this morning after a semi-truck crash caused a fuel spill. ABC7
