Man killed in East L.A. shooting

EAST LOS ANGELES — One man was fatally shot in the 700 block of N. Brannick Avenue on Saturday night, according the the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

A suspect fired several times at the victim, described as a male Latino, who was struck at least one time in the torso, according to an LASD statement. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information, including a description of the suspect, was available on Sunday morning.

The shooting, which took place at about 11:15 pm, was the 8th homicide of the year in unincorporated East L.A., according to the L.A Times Homicide report.
