Signs of Confusion in Highland Park: Videte or Vidette?

HIGHLAND PARK —   City signmakers apparently could not agree on how to spell the name of this one-block street, with one sign reading Videte while the other sign at the same intersection reads Vidette.  The correct answer: Vidette (with 2 T’s).

  1. I made a fun facebook post about this about five years ago. To date, that’s the only misspelled street sign I have ever noticed, in LA or any other city.
