Unclaimed remains of 1,495 people to be buried in Boyle Heights; Silver Lake group challenges housing development

Burial:  An interfaith burial service will be held today at the Los Angeles County Crematory and Cemetery in Boyle Heights for the cremated remains of 1,495 persons whose bodies were never claimed. NBC4 

Development:  A group of Silver Lake neighbors is challenging a developer’s plans to demolish a single family home at 1347 Lucile Ave. and build a trio of 3-story townhomes.  The East L.A. Area Planning Commission will review the group’s appeal at a hearing scheduled for Dec. 13.
