Cal State L.A. ups its women’s golf game; Planning Commission to review Eagle Rock’s “Pillarhenge”; Atwater Village townhomes proposed

Golf: Cal State L.A.’s first intercollegiate women’s golf team will begin their first season next month in San Diego at the Point Loma Reach 2018 Invitational. Hans Kersting, a PGA professional, instructor and director of golf at the Woodland Hills Country Club, will serve as head coach. Cal State L.A.

Pillarhenge: The Planning Commision on Thursday is scheduled to review a proposed block-long, 26-unit apartment building to be constructed on the site of a failed Eagle Rock development dubbed “Pillarhenge” by neighbors. The commissioners will vote on the developer’s request to build a project on Colorado Boulevard that is larger than would be normally allowed in return for including two apartments for very low income tenants. (The hearing had originally been scheduled for last month)

Townhomes: A developer has applied to subdivide 3 lots at 4401 La Clede Avenue in Atwater Village to build an 8-home, townhouse development under the city’s small-lot ordinance.
