HIGHLAND PARK –A man is in stable condition after being shot in the face and chest while standing outside of his house in Highland Park early this morning, police said.
The shooting took place at 1:30 a.m. in the 6000 block of Fayette Street, said Sergeant Rodriguez with the LAPD Northeast Division. The victim was smoking a cigarette when he saw a car drive by. He was shot shortly after by a man wearing a hoodie, said Rodriguez.
Whether the suspect got out of the vehicle to shoot the victim remains unclear. The victim is being treated at a local hospital and is expected to survive, said Rodriguez.
