Montecito Heights shooting leaves one man dead, one injured near 110 Freeway

MONTECITO HEIGHTS — One man was killed and a second man injured in an early morning shooting next to the Arroyo Seco Parkway (110 Freeway) and Avenue 52, police said.

It’s not clear what prompted the shooting, which took place shortly before 5 a.m. near a homeless encampment wedged between the northbound entrance to the freeway and the Arroyo Seco river channel, according to ABC7.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene, said LAPD spokeswoman Rosario Herrera. The second victim was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Herrera said she had no information about the motive of the shooting or of a suspect or suspects
