N. Hollywood police chase ends in East L.A.; Highland Park gang member expected to plead guilty in hate crime killing

Chase: A police pursuit that began in North Hollywood and ended near N. Bonnie Beach Place and Michigan Avenue East Los Angeles on Thursday night after the driver was apprehended after attempting to ram officers’ vehicles. KTLA

Gang: Merced “Shadow” Cambero, a member of the Avenues gang, is expected to plead guilty for his alleged involvement in the killing and targeting of African-Americans in Highland Park 20 years ago. The 39-year-old Cambero, one of three men charged with killing Kenneth Kurry Wilson in April 1999, was arrested last year in Mexico after avoiding capture for more than a decade. My News LA

  1. I found this article regarding the gang killings 20 years ago, and WOW! That neighborhood was terrible and scary, these people who are fighting gentrification should really take a look at that. Do they really want to go back to those days? HLP was a sh!thole and now, just 15 years later, look at how much it has changed, for the better.
