Coming to Dodger opening day? Better watch out for the No Parking zones

Only police cars were parked in the No Parking zone on Avenue of the Palms in years past

Thousands of fans will be descending on Dodgers Stadium on Thursday for the home opener against the Giants. But LAPD, in what has become an annual ritual, is warning those fans of opening-day parking restrictions on the streets surrounding the stadium in Echo Park and Solano Canyon.

Parking will be severely restricted all day on the Avenue of the Palms,  a scenic stretch of Stadium Way near Scott Avenue that is a popular place for pre-game picnics. In addition, there will be 2-hour parking limits on streets several blocks away from the stadium.

Thursday’s season opener begins at 4 pm
