Man wounded in Echo Park shooting [updated]

Echo Park shooting on Laguna Avenue

ECHO PARK — A shooting tonight in the 1000 block of Laguna Avenue left a 37-year-old male injured, according to LAPD spokesman Tony Im.

The victim, who was conscious and breathing, was found after several police units responded to reports of a shooting at 8:25 pm.

Update: on Saturday, March 3: The victim, who was shot in the stomach area, was not cooperative with police, according an update from detectives at the LAPD Rampart Division.  It does not appear to be a gang-related crime, police said.

There was no information available on potential suspects.

      • this guy was not a hipster. Just someone in and out of jail. His brother shot him
        He was stabbed several months ago on laguna. He is often hanging out on the steps, drinking getting high.
