Woman shot dead in East L.A.

East Los Angeles  — A woman was fatally shot early this morning in the 4800 block of Civic Center Way near Belvedere Park Lake, said the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responding to a call of a shooting at 2:32 am found  an adult Latina with a gunshot wound to the upper torso, according to an LASD spokeswoman. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No information was available on a motive or potential suspect or suspects.

  2. The woman who was shot was my daughter Amanda Nicole Lopez. I am begging the public to contact Sheriff’s Homicide Department if they happen to have any information, or were in the park at that time.
