East Hollywood shooting leaves one dead

East Hollywood  — One person is dead and another injured following a shooting early this morning, police said.

The incident involving three persons was initially reported at about 1:45 am near Madison and Melrose avenues, but police activity later this morning was focused on the 600 block of N. Virgil Avenue, according to the LAPD and NBC 4.

One person was found dead at the scene and another transported to a hospital, said LAPD spokesman Drake Madison. The condition of the third person was not available.

Madison had no other details about the motive or suspects.

A woman in handcuffs was seen being taken away in a police cruiser, according to NBC 4.
