Echo Park drive-by shooting leaves one injured

Echo Park — A man standing at a bus stop this afternoon was struck by gunfire that came from a passing SUV in what police are describing as a gang-related shooting.

The 25-year-old victim was near Glendale Boulevard and Allesandro Street when he was shot shortly after 3 pm, according to LAPD spokesman Mike Lopez.

The suspects were apprehended after a brief pursuit about 20 minutes later near Echo Park and Park avenues, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital. Lopez did not have information about the man’s condition.
