Gunfire strikes vehicle on Figueroa in Highland Park

Highland Park  —  A car-to-car shooting took place Wednesday night on Figueroa Street but no one was hit, said Lt. Hope Young with the LAPD’s Northeast Division.

The victim’s SUV was stopped at a red light at about 9:45 pm in the 5400 block of N. Figueroa when another car pulled up and its occupants opened fire, shooting numerous rounds. The car was struck but the two persons inside were not injured.

A description of the shooter’s vehicle was not available but police believe the shooting is gang-related, Young said. No further information was available this morning
