Gunmen hold up Whittier Boulevard taco truck


East Los Angeles  — Two men working at a Whittier Boulevard taco truck  were robbed at gunpoint early this morning following a similar robbery targeting a taco stand in South L.A.

The incident happened at about 2:50 a.m. when three men armed with handguns approached an employee of a taco truck in the 5400 block of Whittier Boulevard, said Lt. Durant with the East Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Station.

The suspects forced the employee at gunpoint into the truck where another employee was inside. They proceeded to take the victims’ cell phones and an undisclosed amount of money, said Durant.

The suspects, adult Latino males, then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The incident follows a similar robbery that happened at around 12:40 a.m. in South Los Angeles, reports NBC 4.
