Double trouble at Echo Park and Cerro Gordo

Echo Park  —  It’s not uncommon for big trucks or buses to get stuck at the bottom of the hill where Echo Park Avenue and Cerro Gordo Street meet. But two big vehicles at the same time — and of the same color?

That’s apparently what happened late this afternoon when a school bus and a box truck got wedged on either side of Echo Park Avenue as they tried to drive up Cerro Gordo.

The bus apparently got stuck about 15 to 20 minutes before the bus, said Marcus Darling, one of several people who were taking photos of the mishap.

“Love that they are the same color.”

  1. it’s brilliant that the Bus Driver thought the outcome would be different for it? with the Truck sitting there!!!!

  2. Ya gotta know yer vehicle, people! And a little bit of physics too.

  3. Look what happens when you can not take Baxter anymore.

  4. Frankly, I find it shocking that with this kind of thing having been happening on those hills, top and bottom, for many decades that the city has not long ago barred vehicles over a certain size from them, as is the case on many other streets all over (it is generally done by weight class).

Instead, vehicles don’t even get a warning and then get stuck. I think the city has some real culpability is this going on all these years.

  5. Classic!!!!!!!
