Man stabbed inside Echo Park Vons

Echo Park  —   A man was taken to a hospital after being stabbed inside the Vons supermarket on Friday night, police said.

The attack took place at about 11 pm when the suspect, described as a black male wearing a green shirt and black pants, walked into the store at Alvarado and Montana streets and stabbed the victim, said LAPD spokesman Mike Lopez.  The suspect then fled the store and remains at large, he said.

The victim, a male Latino, survived the attack and is being treated for his injury, Lopez said.

KTLA reports that the victim and his mother were shopping when he was stabbed in the neck in the florist section of the market.

  1. damn! It wasn’t long ago there was shots fired at the vons.

  2. We Seen the same black man at the Mc Donalds across from the VONS where my family and I were eating and 2 police officers came in (before the Stabbing) and seen him but didn’t question him. We assumed someone called in for a suspicious man. He was acting strange and sitting in almost every seat in the Mc Donalds. He sat right next to us and he had black pants black Shoes (Jordans I think)< Hazel/light brown eyes and a sweat shirt (not sure what color). He then left all his stuff at the table behind us and grab a book from his backpack and left the Mc Donalds. We then finished up and went to VONS where we found out what happened and seen the Victim with a white shirt around his neck. we told the LAPD officer that the suspect had left his belonging at the MC Donalds but didn't really pay us any attention and just said ok but never once did we see him heading towards the Mc Donalds. We're glad the victim will be ok and very upset LAPD still has this guy on the loose. If I see the suspect again I am for sure going to call LAPD so they can show up 1 hour later. (sarcasm)
