One dead after shooting in Boyle Heights alley

Boyle Heights  —  One man is dead after being shot multiple times while walking in an alley late Tuesday night, according to the LAPD.

The victim, a Latino male between the ages of 25 to 30, was shot in the 3400 block of Sabina Street shortly before midnight, said Lizeth Lomeli with LAPD media relations. He was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, she said.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting and remains at large, she said.

Lomeli had no additional information about the incident.

However, Alfred Labrada, commanding officers of the LAPD Hollenbeck Division, described the incident on Twitter as a “senseless act of gang violence.”

It’s the third Boyle Heights killing of the year, according to the L.A. Times Homicide Report.
