Elysian Park hit by three fires in one afternoon [updated]

Solano Canyon—  L.A. Fire Department arson and counter-terrorism investigators are looking into the cause of three small fires that broke out this afternoon in Elysian Park near Solano Canyon, the department said.

It took ground crews and and fire-fighting aircraft about an hour to knockdown the trio of vegetation blazes by 4:25 pm, according to the LAFD.

These fires included a 1/8-acre blaze near Park Row and Grand View drives and two smaller fires just south of that location near Amador Street and Solano Avenue by the Arroyo Seco Parkway (110 Freeway).

No structures were threatened or injuries reported.

Smoke was visible at Dodger Stadium, which is partially surrounded by the park, during today’s Dodgers-Giants game.
