Domestic violence victim goes missing in Cypress Park

Cypress Park  — Police are asking the public to help find a 24-year-old woman who had recently been the victim of domestic violence, according to an LAPD statement.

Veronica Vargas was last seen on Wednesday, July 25 at about 1:30 pm  in the 2600 block of N. Figueroa Street.  An officer at the LAPD Hollenbeck Division  said the information he had available indicated that Vargas was still missing as of Friday afternoon.

Her disappearance has been especially disturbing to her family since it comes after she had “recently been the victim of domestic violence,” according to the LAPD. “Veronica has not been seen or heard from and her family is concerned for her safety.”

She is described as a Latina with shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. She stands 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She was wearing a black dress.
