  1. THANK YOU for keeping us updated. No other media seems to be covering this, and it’s extremely concerning considering I live in the same apartment complex. I’d really like to know if the police think the victim knew the suspect, or if they think it was a random attack.

    • We are trying to find out the same thing. We will keep you posted.

    • Got an email from Nextdoor posted by Lenning Davis who is the Senior Lead Officer of the LAPD. The woman’s son is in custody and being charged with her murder.

  2. There was, as of an hour ago, a KTLA camera van parked on the street. Don’t see any info on their website, however.

  3. 07/11 @ 0930; LAT is at least making mention online: “Detectives have identified a male suspect, but police do not have more information about the suspect or motive, Herrera said. The investigation is ongoing.” (Excerpt)

  4. Very sad for the woman who was killed and her family but apparently those nearby don’t need to worry about a random attack.

  5. I find it annoying that not one of the media outlets can get her name right. Her last name is ‘Mangam’.

    • Where is the media coverage now? Follow up on the facts instead of chasing headlines to fill the daily news cycle.

      • We have tried repeatedly to get information from detectives at the LAPD Northeast Division. They have so far declined. We will try again soon to see if they can confirm information.
