Glassell Park car-to-car shooting leaves man in critical condition

Glassell Park  —  A motorist was left in critical condition following a car-to-car shooting and crash this morning, police said.

The victim, described as a man in his 30s, was driving his vehicle with two passengers near Eagle Rock Boulevard and Avenue 40 at 4:40 am when shots were fired from another vehicle, said LAPD spokeswoman Norma Eisenman. The victim’s car then hit and sheared off a fire hydrant near the intersection.

The victim was transported to a hospital. The two passengers were not injured, Eisenman said.

Eisenman had no other details available about the incident. But NBC 4 said the victim was a Lyft driver and the shooting may have been a case of road age.
