Man found dead on El Sereno street in possible gang-related shooting [updated]

El Sereno –  A man was found shot to death in the 3800 block of Drysdale Avenue early this morning, police said.

Police arrived at the scene after receiving numerous calls of shots fired at about 4:45 a.m., according to the LAPD. Officers with the Hollenbeck Division found the victim, a Latino male, struck by gunfire, said department spokeswoman Rosario Herrera.

KTLA 5 reports the victim was found with several bullet casings around him.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe the homicide is gang related, Herrera said. Officers remain at the scene.

Update @ 4:29 pm: LAPD said the victim was between 40 and years of age. He was hit by multiple gunshots. However, at this time, police did not have information about possible suspects or a motive.
