One injured in Lincoln Heights apartment fire

Fire on Johnson St Lincoln Heights

Lincoln Heights  —  A man was transported to a hospital in serious condition after inhaling smoke during an apartment fire early this morning, according to the L.A. Fire Department.

The fire began shortly before 2 am and engulfed a second-floor unit of an apartment building on the 2700 block of Johnson Street,said the LAFD.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in the unit within 15 minutes, according to the LAFD.

No additional injuries were reported. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage is to be determined.
