Silver Lake car break-ins reported along Sunset Boulevard


Silver Lake — Police are working to identify a suspect responsible for a string of car break-ins Thursday night.

Four cars were broken into at about 11 p.m. while parked in the 4300 block of Sunset Boulevard, said Sgt. Hamilton Alvarenga with LAPD Rampart Division.

The suspect or suspects smashed the car windows to gain access to the cars. Miscellaneous personal items were taken from some cars while nothing was taken from others, Alvarenga said.

The suspect or suspects remain unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
