Water main break in Elysian Heights [updated]

Elysian Heights  — An apparent water main break on Cerro Gordo Street just east of Echo Park Avenue  this morning is sending water gushing down the roadway as far south as Fargo Street, according to Christine Peters who shot the video.

Water has been cut off to more than 100 customers, according to the LADWP outage page.  Water service is expected to be restored until after 2 pm

Cerro Gordo is blocked off.

Update @ 10:30 pm:  One Eastsider reader says workers are still on the scene making repairs, and “it’s loud.”  The LADWP website shows that water service has been restored. But if you are still without water, let us know in the comments with your street and block number.
