Stumptown Coffee Roasters will be opening an outlet on the border of Highland Park and Eagle Rock in a former auto-repair shop now being converted into a restaurant and retail center, according to a broker who negotiated the deal.
Stumptown, which is based in Portland and operates a small nationwide chain of coffee shops, has signed a lease to occupy a building at the corner of York Boulevard and Munson Avenue, said broker Aram Pogosian with Industry Partners.
The approximately 1,700-square-foot, free-standing building sits on the same property where another former auto repair and body shop is being carved up into five separate retail or restaurant spaces. So far no other leases have been signed but talks are underway with prospective tenants, Pogosian said.
The Eastsider contacted Stumptown for comment and more details about the new outlet
Stumptown has been looking to expand outside of Downtown, where it operates a roasting plant and retail outlet in the Downtown Arts District and plans to open another outlet in the Fashion District.
Coffee drinkers already have several spots to get their fix on York Boulevard — including two Starbucks, Cafe de Leche, Collage Coffee, The Highland Cafe and à bloc.
