El Sereno  — Two women were badly injured this afternoon after they became pinned between an SUV and a concrete stoop, said the L.A. Fire Department.

Fire crews, who responded to a call at 2:30 pm in the 3600 block of N. Locke Avenue, freed the women after the SUV was lifted and stabilized, according to the LAFD.

The women were taken to a hospital, with one in critical condition and the other with serious injuries.

The medium-sized SUV was unoccupied but running when the incident took place on a driveway, the LAFD said.

It’s not known if the women had been in the vehicle or lived at the residence.
