The 19th annual festival, organized by the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock, will turn Colorado Boulevard into an approximately six-block-long stage for all sorts of musical acts, displays and activities
Here’s what visitors can expect on Saturday:
Hours: 4 pm – 10 pm
Cost: Technically free. But the Center of the Arts Eagle Rock asks attendees to donate $10 to support their Imagine Studios programs. You can also donate $25 for additional perks (See Getting in as a VIP).
Location: Same as previous years – the festival transforms six blocks of Colorado Boulevard – stretching from Eagle Rock Boulevard to Argus Drive.
Parking and Traffic: If you’re brave enough to face traffic, park in the Eagle Rock Mall near the Macy’s building and grab the free shuttle. Shuttles will run 3 pm – 11 pm. However, organizers suggest using car share rides.
The Theme: This “By Locals for Locals” festival is a celebration of the diversity in the Northeast L.A. communities through music.
Big Headliners: This year’s lineup includes Vintage Trouble, Cut Chemist and The Lions will perform at the Center Stage. The Locals Stage returns for a 2nd time to showcase emerging artists (selected from the Eagle Rock Music Festival’s band application process).
VIP Donation: A $10 donation through Ticketfly gets you a fast track entrance. Donate $25 and you get fast track entrance, the music mix, access to the VIP area and a limited edition 2018 t-shirt.
What’s New This Year: Attendees are encouraged to bring an empty bottle to fill up with water from LADWP station in an effort to be greener and cut waste.
Don’t Miss: Colombo’s Italian Restaurant will become a speakeasy featuring artists like Eye 5, Nancy Sanchez and VV Friendly & Easy Joe.
Kids and Family: The Family Stage at Eagle Rock City Hall will offer a variety of craft activities and you can also see students from local schools perform.
Other Themed Spaces: Americana Stage at the historic Women’s Twentieth Century Club, Subtropical Stage at Rantz Auto Center and the Blues and Jazz Stage in the back patio of Colombo’s Italian Restaurant.
Food Selections: Eat your Feelings Ice Cream, Okamoto Kitchen, Border Grill Truck and Rice Balls of Fire are among the food vendors at the 2018 ERMF; local restaurants will be open with special menus to accommodate festival goers.
Street Closures: Starting at 5 a.m., Colorado Boulevard will be closed between Eagle Rock Boulevard and Argus Drive.
Security: Like prior years, there will be security checking bags at the entrance and also LAPD to make sure everyone is safe. Note that alcohol is not allowed on the festival route. Dogs on leashes are allowed.
