Firefighters extinguish Hermon vegetation fire near the 110 Freeway

Hermon —  It took firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish a small vegetation fire that consumed a storage shed near the Arroyo Seco Parkway (110 Freeway) at Avenue 60, the L.A. Fire Department said.

The blaze scorched about 1/8 of an acre in the 6100 block N Toltec Way. The fire was declared knocked down by 8:37 pm, which kept it from spreading to a nearby vacant residential structure, said an LAFD alert.

CHP was preparing to close the northbound Avenue 60 freeway onramp after the fire broke out, said LAFD.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
