Franklin High locked down after bomb threat [updated]

Highland Park  Franklin High has been locked down this afternoon and police are searching the campus after officials received a bomb threat, said the L.A. School Police on Twitter.

The LAPD Northeast Division “received a call from an unidentified caller stating there was bomb on campus,” said the school district police force. “The school is on lockdown and all students and staff are safe. Multiple LASPD/LAPD units are on scene searching the school.”

Update @ 3:05 PM:
The search ended without any bombs or weapons found, said the school district police. The lockdown order has been lifted.

The L.A. Times reports that the caller who prompted the lockdown said they had shot someone on campus and left a bomb at the school.
