Real Estate Roundup

Atwater Village

Television writer/producer Ron Weiner is listing his 3-bedroom bungalow on Larga Avenue for $1.199 million. A sale is already pending  after only two weeks on the market, according to Variety. Weiner, who has produced and written for sitcoms that include “Arrested Development,” “30 Rock” and, “Silicon Valley,” bought the house three years ago for $1 million, when it had just been renovated.

Eagle Rock

A house that was in the same family for more than 100 years is now back on the open market after reconstruction, according to Redfin. The Heninger House at the top of the hill on Mt Pleasant is listed with an asking price of $1,997,000. The 4-bedroom Craftsman was originally owned and built in 1911 by a building contractor, Harrison Heninger. The serious fixer-upper attracted a lot of attention when it went on the market in November of last year for $1 million.

Echo Park

Architectural Digest describes how writer Sean Hotchkiss redecorated his one-bedroom apartment off Sunset Boulevard. Hotchkiss, whose personal essays have appeared in GQ Magazine, Esquire and The Wall Street Journal, recently relocated here after renovating and selling a home in Peekskill, New York. Among his decisions with the Echo Park apartment: He consciously avoided Mid Century-modern classics, and he has done without window coverings to let in the light.

El Sereno

A 14-unit property a block from Valley Boulevard is up for sale at $2,695,000, according to Redfin. Consisting of a 3-bedroom apartment, eight 2-bedrooms four 1-bedrooms, and a studio, the building has a gross income listed at $187,488. with operating expenses at $73,654.

Silver Lake

Last week we told you about a restored Silver Lake Mid Century that hit the market for $5.125 million. Turns out the seller of the 4-bedroom/4-bathroom home is actress Kristin Wiig, Variety reports. The “tree-house-like” home was designed by Albert P. Martin, who worked on many large corporate and commercial projects. The magazine also reported that the property has undergone a comprehensive restoration, update, and the addition of a swimming pool and guest house. It also includes a laundry room that Variety describes as “unquestionably extra-chic.” Wiig – the “Bridesmaids” co-writer and star who is currently appearing in multiple TV series – bought the home in May 2014 for $1.7 million.

A new hotel near Sunset Junction is set to open in the second quarter of next year, according to a statement from Palisociety and Timberlane Partners. Timberlane Partners has been developing the 54-room hotel out of the old Sunshine City Apartments at 4141 Santa Monica Boulevard, and Palisociety will manage the property among its independent hotels. The project, now known as Silver Lake Pool & Inn, is also to include an outdoor restaurant and bar called Marco Polo, which developers describe as “coastal Italian inspired.” Hotel rooms will include free Wi-Fi, fully stocked mini bars, 55-inch TV’s, safes and custom bath products. The interior will be designed with “vintage leather furniture, wood and stone accents (and) lush greenery,” according to a statement from developers.
