Man critically injured in El Sereno after being struck by trash hauling truck

Waste hauler run over on Valley Boulevard in El Sereno


El Sereno  – A man who was working to haul away a trash dumpster is in critical condition after being run over by his colleague early this morning, police said.

The incident happened in the 5500 block of Valley Boulevard at about 5 a.m., said Sgt. Yerkey with LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division.

The victim was assisting the driver of the truck in backing up the vehicle when he was struck by the rear wheel and run over. He suffered severe head trauma and was rushed to the hospital to be treated, Yerkey said.

No further information was immediately available.
