Meet the brothers behind Franklin High’s football winning streak

Franklin High in Highland Park

Highland Park — In a storybook twist, two sets of brothers at Franklin High are taking the Panthers football team on a winning streak, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Quarterback Alfred Bobadilla and receiver Daniel Phillips helped take the team to a 7-0 start this season after a 42-29 win over Wilson High School, Friday night.

Two years earlier their brothers Mario and David led the school earn the City Section Division III championship.

“It’s pretty cool,” coach Narciso Diaz told the Times.

Franklin’s current winning streak continued this week, with a 35-6 win over the Marshall High Barristers.  Next up is Eagle Rock on Oct. 19 in a game that the Times said could decide the Northern League championship.
