Don’t Miss These 6 Holiday Shopping Markets: From a Native American arts marketplace to a book fair in East L.A.

It’s a great time to start your holiday shopping before lines get too crazy. There are several markets popping up all around the Eastside. Many have one-of-a-kind pieces created by very talented locals; you’re sure to find something for everyone on your gift list.

American Indian Arts Marketplace at the Autry

This weekend (November 10-11) the largest Native American arts fair in Southern California kicks-off at the Autry Museum. The fair features 200 Native American artists selling their pottery, sculptures, basketry, paintings, textiles, beadwork and much more. Food, performances, children’s activities and artist demonstrations will also be featured. Details

Barnsdall Art & Craft Fair

On Sunday, November 18th the Barnsdall Arts and Craft Fair will take place at Barnsdall Art Park. The event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. showcases work by Art Center students and faculty. You can not only purchase one of their many unique items such as ceramics, handcrafted jewelry, cards and prints, but you help support local artisans! Details

Indie Flea Market in Silver Lake

The Silverlake Flea is going on every Saturday from 12- 5 p.m. until December 22nd on the playground of Micheltorena St. Elementary. The entrance is free to go and check out some of the city’s top independent vendors. There will be vintage, antiques, home décor, art, crafts, collectible among the variety of merchandise you can purchase. Details

The 10th Annual Winter Faire in Highland Park

Bitchcraft presents its annual Winter Faire at Kinship Yoga. The shopping event is on December 8 from 12 to 7 p.m. Vendors include Olde Ways, Luna Prosperity, Beadoff, Refrigerator Heaven, Acid Queen Jewelry and also food by The Pagan Feast, Hi Buddy Hot Sauce and many others. Book Fair in East L.A.

Find a gift for the bookworm in your life. The East Los Angeles Library presents its 2018 Fall Book Fair. It starts Friday November 9th and it goes on until the 18th. There will be books, novelties and other items to purchase. Currently the hours are as follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 4-8 p.m., Fridays: 3-6 p.m., Saturdays & Sundays: 1-5 p.m. Details

Echo Park Holiday Craft Fair

Don’t miss the 2-day art and design fair featuring the work by over 120 artists. The event is on December 8th and 9th at the Mach Sennett Studios in Silver Lake. This year’s lineup includes Anchovy, Sakura Bloom, Oat Bakery, Passenger, Miwak Junior and Shiva Rose. There is definitely something for all walks of life! Details
