Drive-by shooting at Wawona and Trent

Eagle Rock —  Detectives are investigating a possible drug-related drive-by shooting Monday night that left one man injured near the 2 Freeway, police said.

The shooting happened at about 11 p.m. near Trent Way and Wawona Street.  Four suspects in a vehicle drove up to the victim and fired two rounds in his direction before fleeing in an unknown direction, said Sgt. Gomez with the LAPD’s Northeast Division.

The victim was struck once by gunfire and sustained a minor injury.

The details surrounding the shooting remain unclear. But police believe drugs may have been a factor. Drugs were recovered at the scene of the shooting, Gomez said.

No further details were provided about the suspects or the victim. The investigation is ongoing.

  1. Based on your map, that is in Glassell Park, not in Eagle Rock. You should put it in a different section of your news.

  2. not sure about the details herein. i heard 7 shots around 8:30 pm. helicopter was on scene about 5 minutes later and i could see the lights from the emergency vehicles until around 9-9:15 pm.

LAPD neglects this area. As they park at the 711 down the street sipping on free coffee, addicts are parked in that same spot smoking crack and shooting up heroine. Often, they toss empty beer bottles, drug baggies and needles out of their car window. They stay for hours. Residents call the police and wait in vain. Last years, a car parked in the middle of the street, both doirs open, driver sprawled out across the driver and passenger seats. Everyone called the police. From 11pm to 3am that car stayed until FINALLY police responded.

Frequent drug deals go down on a daily basis all while kids are attending class at the near by Delevan Drive Elementary. I DONT EVEN CALL THE POLICE ANYMORE. Needless to say, I am in the process of moving out.

  4. Shots were fired at 845PM
Helicopters showed up and street was blocked off by police 915PM
Perps on the 2 north heading back home to Glendale 846PM
