By LUCY GUANUNA

Silver Lake   — A man is in custody after attacking a police officer with a knife Wednesday night, police said.

Officers with the LAPD’s Northeast Division responded to the 2200 block of Kenilworth Avenue after receiving calls reporting a man with a knife at about 10 p.m., said Sgt. Morales.

Upon arrival, officers saw the man and approached him. That’s when the suspect attacked one of the responding officers with the knife, police said.

The officers were able to subdue the suspect and take him into custody. The officer was not injured in the attack, Morales said.

One Eastsider reader said police had West Silver Lake blocked with a patrol car and truck several hours after the incident.

No further details were available at this time.
