Boyle Heights — Police are trying to figure out whether a man found stabbed at the Metro line platform in Boyle Heights Wednesday night was the victim of a drug deal gone bad or targeted for another reason.
Officers responded at about 7 p.m. to a call at the Pico Aliso open-air Gold Line stop at 1st Street and Utah Street and found a man in his early 20s with multiple stab wounds, along with his friend.
The victim was uncooperative.
“They said the guy just fell down, but he had seven stab wounds,” said Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Kevin Moore.
“We don’t know if it was some kind of feud between the two of them, if it was a narco deal that went wrong,” he said. “There is a whole bunch of speculation but no real facts.”
The man was transported to LAC+USC Medical Center and is in stable condition, Moore said.
