Silver Lake — The people behind a new Sunset Junction boutique hotel have released more details about the project, including an opening date — spring of next year — and a name: the Silver Lake Pool & Inn.
Timberlane Partners has been developing the 54-room hotel out of the old Sunshine City Apartments at 4141 Santa Monica Boulevard. Palisociety will manage the property as part of its chain of local hotels, which include Palihouse West Hollywood, Palihouse Santa Monica and the upcoming Palihotel Westwood Village.
Silver Lake Pool & Inn will also include an outdoor restaurant and bar called Marco Polo, which the owners describe as “coastal Italian inspired.” Hotel rooms will include free Wi-Fi, fully stocked mini bars, 55-inch TV’s, safes and custom bath products.
The interior will be designed with “vintage leather furniture, wood and stone accents (and) lush greenery,” according to a statement from the developers.
“We have been waiting for the right opportunity to bring Palisociety to the eastside of Los Angeles and this is the perfect property,” said company founder Avi Brosh in a statement.
Brosh has teamed up with Silver Lake resident John Chaffetz to open the hotel. Chaffetz is also part owner of Botanica, the Silver Lake restaurant and market opened by his wife Heather Sperling.
The Silver Lake Pool & Inn will have a big head start over a new, 4-story, 94-room hotel that is planned a block away as part of the Sunset Junction Gateway project.
Construction on the Sunset Junction Gateway hotel wouldn’t begin until next year at the earliest if all necessary reviews and approvals are in place.
