FRIDAY, December 28

Modern Funk Fest: DJ Summit at the Echo: This night will bring together the best of Modern Funk’s live acts and DJs with DJ Wicked and Wezee and the Vinylistics headlining in Echo Park. $8. 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Details

Winter Voices at Tia Chuchas: Unload this year’s joys and struggles onto the mic during this end-of-the-year spoken word open mic. 8 p.m. Details

Dancehall Ball at Los Globos: Throw on your tuxes and ballgowns for a night of decadence at Dancehall in Silver Lake. Free. 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Details

SATURDAY, December 29

FOLK MEDIC at Subliminal Projects: Don’t miss your last chance to check out the Echo Park exhibition of new works by the group FOLK MEDIC, made up of Asian-American artists Kris Chau, Ako Castuera and Hellen Jo. 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Details

Chapel of Love: ‘60s Pop Night at Zebulon Cafe: Get down to ‘60s sunshine pop, soft psych and a Lee Hazlewood Tribute live performance in Frogtown. Free. 8 p.m. Details

SUNDAY, December 30

Decorating & Sgraffito Pottery Workshop at POT LA: Carve the most ornate of designs onto your freshly built pottery by learning to transfer and carve designs onto your clay during this Echo Park workshop. $65. 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Details

Tai Chi at the Audubon Center at Debs Park: Relieve your traffic-induced stress with one hour of moving morning meditation. 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Details

Wasted Afternoon at the Silverlake Lounge: Sunday Funday drink specials and an open mic where anything goes. It’s bound to get interesting. 4 p.m. Details

Suburban Fight Pro Wrestling at the Hi Hat: Watch as wrestlers Brody King and Darby Allin fight it out in the ring one last time in Highland Park. $15-$20. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Details

Page Me ‘90s Hip Hop and R&B at the Offbeat: End 2018 with dare I say it – TWO parties in a row? DJs will be spinning your favorite 90s jams during their pre-NYE party in Highland Park. Details
