Fire crews prevent vehicle from sliding down Mt. Washington hillside

Vehicle rescued from near Museum Drive on Mount Washington

Mount Washington — A vehicle that drove off a dirt road and was in danger of dropping off a 150-foot high hillside early this morning was stabilized before it slid downhill, said the L.A. Fire Department.

Authorities were called in after 1 am when a motorist lost control of the vehicle in what was described as a weather-related incident near the 700 block of Museum Drive. Fire crews used picks, sandbags and heavy-duty rescue equipment to pull the vehicle back on to the road, said LAFD.

The were no reports of injuries.
