Fire extinguished at East L.A. apartments under construction

East Los Angeles  — Arson investigators are looking into a New Year’s Day fire that burned a two-story apartment building under construction, said Los Angeles County Fire spokesperson Austin Bennet.

Four engines responded to the fire at 1076 N. Gage Ave. at about 7:45 p.m. The flames were extinguished by 10 p.m.

There were no injuries reported.
