Rubbish fire breaks out next to 134 Freeway and Figueroa in Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock —  A small grass fire broke out along the eastbound 134 Freeway  in Eagle Rock this morning.

It began at about 6:20 am near Figueroa Street and was doused 12 minutes later after scorching about a quarter-acre, said the L.A. Fire Department.

Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said it was unclear what  sparked the fire.
